Legal Principle

A foreign arbitral award rendered in accordance with the New York Convention of 10 June 1958, ratified by Law No. 62 of 19 January 1968, is capable of recognition and declaration of enforceability in Italy pursuant to art. 839 of the code of civil procedure, once the formal regularity of the award and the absence of the grounds for refusal set out in the fourth paragraph of that provision have been ascertained.
