An arbitration clause referring the resolution of the dispute to the judgment of an arbitrator acting as amiable compositeur must be construed as referring the dispute to a sole arbitrator and not to an arbitral panel, since the reference to "an arbitrator" unequivocally expresses the parties' intention to entrust the decision to a single person.
