The waiting period of one hundred and twenty days from service of the enforceable instrument, as provided for by Article 14(1) of Decree-Law No. 669 of 1996, converted into Law No. 30 of 1997, as amended by Article 44(3) of Decree-Law No. 269 of 2003, converted into Law No. 326 of 2003, applicable to State administrations and non-economic public bodies for the completion of enforcement procedures, applies also to arbitral awards having enforceable effect and entailing the obligation to pay sums of money, with the consequence that service of a precept before the expiry of that period renders it null and void for want of the right to proceed with enforcement.
