Proceedings to challenge an arbitral award are akin to an appeal and do not allow new objections to be raised unless they may be raised by the court of its own motion; an objection of time-bar (decadenza), which is subject to the parties’ disposition and cannot be raised of the court’s own motion, is therefore inadmissible when raised by a party who entered an appearance out of time.
