The challenge of an arbitral award for violation of rules of law relating to the merits of the dispute is admissible exclusively where such faculty has been expressly provided for by the parties in the arbitration agreement or by law, pursuant to Article 829(3) of the Code of Civil Procedure, the mere provision that the arbitrator shall decide according to law being insufficient.
