Legal Principle

In regular arbitration, the time limit for claiming that arbitrators have lost their mandate under Article 821 of the Code of Civil Procedure runs until before the award is made. But this is subject to extensions that operate automatically under the fourth paragraph of Article 820 of the Code of Civil Procedure. These extensions operate by right to ensure the full exercise of the right of defence and push forward the deadline for making the award.
