Where the proceedings on the merits to which the interim proceedings are ancillary have been referred to arbitration, the court dealing with the interim application also has jurisdiction to rule on the costs of the interim proceedings, given the separation of jurisdictions between the arbitration and the ordinary interim proceedings, since the arbitrators may not rule on the costs of proceedings falling outside their cognisance.
